STANTON, CA - Next To Adventure City
How would you like to see this guy outside your front door walking up and down your street night after night? This picture was taken on Saturday May 26th.
Today, Wednesday May 29th from 6-8pm at Stanton city hall there will be a meeting to discuss prostitution in our small town. Stanton city hall is located at Beach and Katella at 7800 Katella Ave.
Anyway, the picture above is Starr Street next to our children's amusement park Adventure city. This is the street where the city put up a camera a year ago so they could "watch" the crime then do nothing about it. See, I told you those cameras were "not a plan" and completely useless.
So... Instead of sending the cops over to Starr Street our Stanton city council is holding a meeting to "talk" about prostitution in our city. More talk!?
Back in 1992 our current mayor "talked" about prostitution being an issue in our city in this LA Times article.
City Council members have received complaints about prostitution from business owners, discussed the problem at a recent meeting and expect to hear a report on it this week from Capt. Bob Eason, who commands Stanton’s sheriff’s deputies.
“I’ve heard a number of complaints over the past three months over this particular issue,” said Councilman David John Shawver. The council “better try to curtail the prostitution problem or we’ll have to call in a task force,” Shawver said.
Shawver has served as councilmember or mayor for over 30 years and we are talking about this same issue still?
Over the past 32 years many of our councilmembers have "talked" about the issue nearly every election year but then nothing is done about it. Talk, and more talk every election season, but never has any councilmember created a plan to put a stop to it. Instead of giving you a plan they offer talk and hope. Hope is not a plan. A plan is a plan.
So, today, Wednesday May 29th from 6-8pm at Stanton city hall there will be a meeting to discuss prostitution in our small town. Stanton city hall is located at Beach and Katella at 7800 Katella Ave.
This is our Stanton city council's point of view: If there are no residents or business owners that take pride in their neighborhood then maybe they deserve to live this way. Why not have women (and one man) walking the streets outside their front doors day and night? There has been no business owners or residents forcing the city to doing anything about it in the past 32 years so why not let it continue? This seems to be the Stanton city council's point of view.
Anyway, if you want to hear more talk and no plan then visit City Hall today Wednesday May 29th from 6-8pm at 7800 Katella Ave.
The picture below is from yesterday taken at the children's amusement park Adventure City. All day and all night the ladies (and one man) walk the streets of Stanton and our city council still refuses to create a plan after 32 years.

Where is the park ranger?
Our Park Rangers have been missing for years. I remember when we voted on our last city tax increase part of the money was for the Park Rangers. Seen the Park Rangers lately? We need them so families can use the parks again and children can have their tree house back. Looks like the children's tree house has been turned into someone's house-house. And this park is right next to Stanton city hall and our Sheriff's station. What will it take to get our local government to care?
Do we still have Code Enforcement? I haven't seen any code enforcement vehicles around in over a month. Anyone else notice this?
Seems like we lost our Parking Enforcement team too. I have noticed on social media that neighbors have complained that parking enforcement in the permitted parking areas have not been enforced in quite a while. Anyone else notice that the Parking Enforcement Team is missing too?

City hall re-opens
Stanton city hall re-opened yesterday (Tuesday). Due to the Monday holiday our city hall is only open 3 days this week.
Our city could save lots of money and reduce your city taxes if the administrative staff worked part-time 3 days a week throughout the entire year. They already have every Friday off now. And since there are so many city holidays during the year they are basically only working part-time now anyway.
Why pay for a full-time staff if City Hall is not open full-time? This is a poor business decision. Having a part-time staff 24-30 hours a week will save us money and reduce our taxes so you could have more money for you and your family.

City Council Candidate failed promises
Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association
Kevin Carr has volunteered his time on events and causes around Stanton, the local community, and Orange County for over two dozen years. In 2012 Kevin led the effort and Single-handedly defeated our Stanton city council's ballot measure which would have taxed Stanton's television programming (cable and streaming). Kevin in 2012 also defeated our Stanton city council's attempt to increase the taxes on cellphones, land lines, and all utilities. Kevin worked against our Stanton city council's Utility Tax in the early 1990s and the Parcel Tax in 1997 (defeated it). Kevin worked against our Stanton city council's 2001 Stanton Utility Tax, the many sewer fee increases, and the many trash fee increases that our Stanton city council places on our bills. Kevin also recently worked against our Stanton city council's city tax on pot and the increase of our hotel room tax. Thanks to Kevin Carr we now have voting by districts. Kevin Carr also worked on term limits on our Stanton city council members so now a few have been exited from city council for life. Kevin has done a lot more for Stanton residents and businesses but this paragraph has gotten a bit long already ;) To summarize: he's one of the good guys.
